Due to snow, rain, wind and other amazing elements which might alter the landscape in the area, the 25K and 50K courses have been modified from years past - parts of the upper sections of the original course are often obstructed by fallen trees (runners can get through, but not aid station personnel or emergency vehicles). The 25K and 50K distances will now cover multiple loops of the single-track trails adjacent to the main campground area - this section does happen to be thickly wooded, have several streams with rock bridges to cross, and abundant wildlife - not a bad alternative! This is the same course configuration as in 2012.
Courses: The 5K and 10K courses will be loops on single-track trails to the north of the Shotgun Creek Campground. The 25K course will consist of the main 5.2 mile loop adjacent to the Campground, which will be covered three times. The 50K will consist of the main 5.2 mile loop adjacent to the Campground, which will be covered six times. Click here for a 5K COURSE MAP. Click here for a 10K COURSE MAP. Click here for a MAIN LOOP COURSE MAP. The elevation gain and loss per loop is approximately 566 feet (starting at 701 feet and climbing to 1267 feet per loop). Please see the loop elevation profile below.
Awards: Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers in each event, plus the top three in each age group in each event. All participants will be eligible for random prize drawings.
